Complete your profile
Set up the profile that ranks jobs, fills applications, and supplies your CVs—without confusing matching with eligibility.
My profile is the source for three separate jobs: ranking the feed, filling application forms, and generating CVs. You do not need to complete every field before it becomes useful.
Start with the fields that change your feed
Fill these first:
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Target roles | Rewards jobs in the work families you want. |
| Skills | Compares your skills with the job's required and optional skills. |
| Primary skills | Gives a bounded lift to the tools you most want to use. |
| Seniority | Compares your level with the level requested by the job. |
| Languages | Discounts jobs that require a language you have not listed. |
| Remote only | Penalizes hybrid and on-site work in your match score. |
Save the profile, then open the feed with Relevance sorting. Each job gets a 0–100 match score and a short explanation.
Your profile country does not filter job eligibility. Set the country where you will work in the feed or alert itself. A job can be a strong skills match and still be unavailable in your location.
Import a résumé instead of starting blank
The résumé card accepts PDF, DOC, DOCX, Markdown, HTML, and plain text up to 10 MB.
- Upload the file.
- Choose Auto-fill profile from resume.
- Review every extracted field.
- Choose Save profile.
Extraction fills a draft. Nothing becomes part of your saved profile until you save it. If a scanned PDF contains no readable text, paste the résumé text into the fallback field and extract from that.
Add the facts applications need
The rest of the profile prevents repetitive form filling:
- name, email, phone, address, and display location;
- LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio, and other links;
- headline, summary, and salary expectation;
- work experience, education, projects, certifications, and languages;
- cover-letter guidance;
- reusable answers to common application questions.
Write experience descriptions as factual achievement bullets. They are useful input for a CV and screening answer; vague paragraphs give the system less to work with.
Answer gaps once
When an application asks something the profile cannot answer, Remotera can add it to Profile gaps. Save the answer there and later forms can reuse it. Saved answers holds standard answers you want reused directly, before an AI answer is considered.
Review sensitive or job-specific questions every time. Demographic and equal opportunity fields are not invented from your profile.
Generate a general CV
Choose Generate CV from the profile page to preview your current facts in a template. Pick the paper size and theme, then use the browser print dialog to save a PDF.
For a CV aimed at a particular market—say senior backend roles in Europe—create an application profile instead.
Drafts and saving
The editor autosaves a recovery draft while you type. That draft protects your work, but it does not update matching until you choose Save profile. Discard draft reloads the last saved version.
After a meaningful matching-field change, score updates run in the background. The old score may remain visible briefly while the feed is recalculated.
