Find a job

Use the feed as a decision queue: narrow by eligibility, compare the right facts, and keep the search you built.

The feed works best as a shortlist, not an infinite scroll. Build a search that removes jobs you cannot or would not take, then judge what remains.

Read the feed in this order

For each job, scan:

  1. Title and company — open the company name for a consolidated employer profile and its other roles.
  2. Eligibility — remote does not mean worldwide. Check the country or timezone scope.
  3. Salary — compare the normalized range, but note whether it was stated by the employer or estimated.
  4. Skills and seniority — focus skills tell you what the job is really centered on.
  5. Age and status — archived jobs stay readable but are not active leads.

Signed-in users also see their match score, matched skills, and saved state.

Narrow in a useful order

1. Eligibility

Set the country where you will work. This removes jobs that explicitly exclude your country or timezone while keeping worldwide roles.

Use Worldwide only when you want employers with no location restriction at all. That is stricter than “can hire me.”

2. Role and arrangement

Choose the job family and whether you want remote, hybrid, or on-site work. Several roles within one filter are alternatives, not requirements.

3. One defining skill

Add the skill that separates the job you want from nearby roles. Use Match all skills only when every selected skill is essential.

4. Salary and exclusions

Use a salary floor to remove jobs below your minimum. Pair it with Has salary only when you accept losing otherwise relevant jobs that do not disclose pay.

Exclude recurring noise with !: !crypto, !agency, or a specific skill or company.

5. Sort

  • Newest is best for a daily pass.
  • Relevance ranks against your saved profile and requires an account.
  • Salary surfaces the highest disclosed or normalized pay.

The Older jobs divider separates recent arrivals from the rest even when a different sort changes the order inside each group.

Use new arrivals without losing your place

When jobs enter the feed while the page is open, a new-jobs badge appears. Use it to insert them at the top. Your current filters still apply.

Every filter lives in the URL. Bookmark it, send it to someone, or turn it into an alert. A recipient gets the same public filters, but not your session-based state: relevance scoring, match thresholds, and viewed history remain yours.

For indexed browse pages, Remotera also supports readable paths such as:

When the feed is empty

Remove conditions one at a time in this order:

  1. salary disclosure or salary floor;
  2. match-all skills;
  3. industry or company size;
  4. keyword text;
  5. seniority.

Do not remove the country merely to make the count look healthier. That brings back jobs you cannot take.
