Search from your country

Build a location-aware search without confusing country eligibility, regions, timezones, citizenship, and worldwide work.

One worked search from Portugal — eligibility, a skill, a salary floor — then the same search run from the United States.

The most useful first filter is the country where you expect to do the work. It removes jobs whose stated hiring scope or timezone window excludes you.

Replace TH with your ISO two-letter country code:

https://www.remotera.ai/?country=TH&sort=date

This includes worldwide jobs. It is not the same as searching the job text for your country name, and it is not the same as Worldwide only.

Use the country where you will physically work. Citizenship, visa status, and payroll arrangements may still require a manual check with the employer.

Compare the two location lanes

Keep two links:

https://www.remotera.ai/?country=TH
https://www.remotera.ai/?worldwide=true

The first means “can hire from Thailand.” The second means “states no country or timezone restriction.” Worldwide is normally the smaller, stricter lane.

Read region names literally

EU, EEA, Europe, EMEA, LATAM, APAC, ASEAN, and similar labels are not interchangeable. A country can belong to one and not another. Remotera expands known regions for eligibility; an unclear label produces Check eligibility instead of a guess.

The detail-page verdict explains why a country passed when the evidence is clear—for example, because it is explicitly listed, belongs to a named region, or falls inside a timezone range.

Watch timezone windows

A posting can accept your country but require working hours that do not suit you. Conversely, a posting may name no countries and still restrict applicants to a UTC window.

For countries spanning several timezones or daylight-saving rules, treat the calculated verdict as a first pass. Compare your actual working offset with the employer's stated hours.

Adjust the search to your market

If the eligible set is large, add the role and salary controls that save you the most reading. If it is small, keep the eligibility filter broad and use an alert instead of stacking more conditions.

Contract work can be a useful separate lane when employers cannot hire payroll employees in your country:

https://www.remotera.ai/?country=BR&employment=contract

That does not solve tax, entity, or work-authorization questions. It only shows postings that state a contract arrangement.

Where you work from

United States

59.4%5,143 of the 8,665 jobs in the feed are open to a candidate in the US

The widest view anyone gets, and it is still not the whole feed.

Measured 6 August 2026. The feed held 8,665 jobs that day, and every share below is measured the way the feed asks: your country AND its UTC offset.

Region names that include the US

  • Americas35 countries

These come from the fourteen region names Remotera expands. A posting that uses any other name is left unjudged.

?country=US sends accepts_country=US and accepts_utc_offset=-6

The plan

  1. Set ?country=US. The feed always sends both halves of the eligibility test, accepts_country=US and accepts_utc_offset=-6, so a role with working hours you cannot cover drops out too.
  2. Add has_salary=true and sort=salary. US roles are where pay is printed: the median disclosed salary on a US role is $175,000, against $143,000 across the whole feed.
  3. Put a floor under it with salary_min=150000 — always USD a year, whatever currency the posting used. 2,065 postings clear that bar. Narrow further with seniority=senior (3,833 postings).

The trap

That 5,143 is not 5,143 American jobs. Every worldwide role counts toward it, and only 3,647 postings actually name the US in their allowlist. The difference is the part of your feed that anyone, anywhere, is also applying to.

Links to start from

  • Everything open to a candidate in the US

  • US roles that disclose pay, highest first

  • Senior US roles from $150k

Unmarked never means eligible. It means the posting did not say enough to judge. Counts move as postings land and expire.

A practical setup

  1. Country-eligible roles, sorted by relevance.
  2. Worldwide-only roles, sorted newest.
  3. A salary-disclosed variant for market comparison.
  4. One alert for the best of those searches.

Use Where you can work when a verdict is unclear and Filters when the list needs narrowing.
